We hope that our May newsletter finds you all safe and well. After spending the last couple of months working from home, we want to update you on where we’re at.
In our previous email sent out in April, we informed you that our residential property insurance unoccupancy period has been extended to a minimum of 60 days for premises that have become unoccupied due to COVID-19 restrictions. This extension is still in place.
The standard commercial and residential unoccupied property inspection requirements, as per the security clause, have also been extended an additional 30 days.
As a reminder, if a commercial property has become unoccupied due to COVID-19 restrictions, but will re-open once these restrictions are lifted, we do not need to be notified of the change in circumstances. However, if the property is unoccupied due to a change in use, this would be classed as business as usual and so we would expect to be notified of this change.
As mentioned in our last newsletter, we now have a Frequently Asked Questions page on the website, which has been put together based on queries we are commonly asked over LiveChat. This is a useful page to have bookmarked that can save you time if you do have a quick question.
To help those who need to get in touch, we have taken a look at our most and least busy times of day for LiveChat. As you can see from the below image, traffic is high throughout the day, but this does provide an indication of when to avoid if possible*.
